THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW (Video)- Derek Cianfrance‘s crime drama, The Place Beyond the Pines, shows the harsh side of life in a vulnerable light. In the film, Ryan Gosling‘s character, Luke, leads an adventurous life as a stunt rider who resorts to robbing banks in order to provide for his family. His love interest Romina, played by Eva Mendes, does not find Luke to be a fit father and worries about the life of their child and herself. We sat down with the stars of the film, as well as the director, and asked them what they thought the overall message of the film is. The consensus seemed to be to take pride and responsibility for your actions and life and be willing to deal with the consequences.
PLOT: A motorcycle stunt rider turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child, a decision that puts him on a collision course with an ambitious rookie cop navigating a department ruled by a corrupt detective.
